I was thinking ''I wonder if 'qwikhitz.blogspot.com' is available?''. As of 2/18/7, NOT ANYMORE!!!Qwik Hitz! WILL be a different blog, but everything I've learned doing YIH applies there as well... posted by YIH @ 2:11 AM on :
Right now it has a ''generic blogger'' template, ''the Orange B'' icon, and no Haloscan.
Not a problem, all of these are quite fixable. Time consuming, but fixable.
Your Image Here just gave birth to a new blog, now let's see what kind of parent it will be...

John McCain is planning to introduce on Wednesday, also would require ISPs and perhaps some Web sites to alert the government of any illegal images of real or "cartoon" minors. Failure to do would be punished by criminal penalties including fines of up to $300,000.Think ''McCain-Finegold'' here.

There is a push to bring 20,000 ''iraqi refugees'' here. That cannot be allowed to happen. We are beginning to see the sunni-shi'ite blood fued not only in ''iraq'' but in Dearborn MI as well!!!
Islam is a mortal threat to our civilization.
But we cannot destroy Islam.
Nor can we democratize Islam.
Nor can we assimilate Islam.
Therefore the only way to make ourselves safe from Islam is to separate ourselves from Islam.
Doesn't it occur to anyone who reads stories like this that it might not be a good idea to import this problem?Italics mine. From the Washington Times link above:
Supporters of the existing policy have warned that hostile elements such as al Qaeda terrorists might try to enter the United States posing as refugees. Mr. McCormack did not say what steps might be taken to screen the applicants.Again, italics mine. From what I've already seen of our so-called immigration policy the 20,000 would merely be the first 20,000 that apply. That would be the ''screening''. If an ''iraqi'' is #20,001 he or she won't get into America. If an ''iraqi'' is #19,999 he or she will.

posted by YIH @ 10:56 PM on Friday, February 09, 2007 :Three-quarters of the drivers serving the airport are Muslims, most from Somalia and, in recent years, many have refused to carry passengers carrying alcohol because Islam frowns on liquor. Dozens of passengers have reportedly been left stranded. Occasionally, even blind people using seeing-eye dogs have been refused passage by drivers citing Islamic teachings that the saliva of dogs is unclean.Which moslim land are such restrictions imposed? Saudi Arabia? *BZZZT* WRONG! But thanks for playing. Here's the correct answer:
OK, let's say you fly into Minneapolis-St. Paul. Let's say you're carrying alcohol -- rum from the Caribbean, a Merlot you found in Napa Valley. Let's say you try to hail a cab while carrying said alcohol.YES, Minneapolis-St. Paul IS in America. It's the largest city in the State of Minnesota. Ever heard of the Minnesota Twins? The Minnesota Vikings? YES, that city!!!
Good luck. You're going to need it.
MINNESOTABoldface mine. Florida Law:
Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 256C, Sections 256C.01 through 256C.06, amended 1992; Section 363.03(10). Minnesota statutes guarantee a blind person the legal right to be accompanied by a dog guide in all public accommodations and on all public conveyances. A dog guide user also is guaranteed the right to equal accommodation in housing. No extra charge can be levied because of the dog's presence, but the dog guide user is liable for any damage the dog guide causes to the premises. A landlord is not required to modify his property or maintain a higher standard of care than that provided other persons. Minnesota's state policy also ensures equal employment opportunity to blind persons in its state public schools, and in all employment supported in whole or part by public funds, except when the particular disability prevents performance of the work involved. Public accommodations include hotels, public buildings, restaurants, places of resort and amusement, stores and all other places to which the public is invited. (Sect. 256C.02) Public conveyances include airplanes, boats, taxis, trains, buses, and all other modes of transportation offered for public use. (Sect. 256C.02) Housing includes any real property offered for rent, lease, or compensation. (Sect. 256C.025) The service dog must be capable of being properly identified as from a recognized school for Seeing Eye dogs or dog guides. (Sect. 256C.02) Violation: Any person or agent thereof who interferes with the above enumerated rights is guilty of a misdemeanor and punishable therefore under Minnesota law. (Sect. 256C.05)
FLORIDAAgain, Boldface mine. Note how similar the two State Laws are. I only address the laws as they apply in Minnesota (which is what Mr. Pitts uses as an example) and Florida (the State that both he and I live in). Both make it quite clear that barring someone with a seeing-eye dog is a violation of State Law and punishable by such. And quite properly should be.
Florida Statutes, Section 413.08 (1) through (8), enacted 1971, amended 1973, 1974, 1977, 1979, 1982, 1983, 1985, 1987, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1998 Florida statutory law guarantees a blind person the legal right to be accompanied by a specially trained dog guide in all public accommodations and on all public conveyances. Florida statutory law also guarantees a dog guide user the legal right to equal accommodations in all housing. No extra fee can be levied because of the dog's presence, but the dog guide user is liable for any property damage the dog might cause. Landlords are not required to modify the premises nor are they responsible for maintaining a higher standard of care than that provided to other tenants. Housing accommodation covers any real property or portion thereof that is offered for rent, lease or compensation as a residence or sleeping place, but does not include private single family dwellings in which the occupants have offered no more than one room for rent. (Sect. 413.08(4)(a)-(c)) Public conveyances include all common carriers, airplanes, boats, trains, buses, taxis, and any other mode of transportation offered for public use. (Sect. 413.08(1)(a)) Public accommodations include hotels, lodging places, restaurants, stores, places of resort and amusement, and any other place to which the general public is invited. (Sect. 413.08 (1)(a)) Any trainer of a dog guide, while engaged in the training of such dog has the same rights and privileges with respect to access to public facilities. (Amendment Sect. 413.08 (7)) Violation: Any person, firm, corporation, or agent thereof who denies or interferes with the above enumerated rights is guilty under Florida law of a second class misdemeanor and punishable in accordance therewith. (Sect. 413.08 (2))
Of course, this is the woman who is dumb enough to think that Americans are pining for a third Bush in the White House. Sure, Jeb talks a good game, but the problem is that after the lies his father and his brother told to get elected, no one with more than half a brain, conservative or liberal, believes anything that comes out of the mouth of anyone named Bush. And I left this as a comment there:
I doubt JEB (his initals) Bush will seek nomination for President. He was overall an OK Govenor of FL but he demonstrated that he can indeed be 'rattled'. By the time 'francis' hit JEB in his public demeanor was quite clearly a shaken man. Granted, that was a stressful time for all of us (in FL) but showing it during an annoucement of moblizing the State to deal with another hurricane was not confidence inspiring. As Govenor of FL appearing 'shaken' during a period of stress in public is forgivable. For a President it would be seen as distrubing. And would likely make a bad situation worse.
